I am so grateful to sit in our tiny but lovely backyard for a moment in the mornings. We have a little firepit, a little patio area, a grassy area, a place for a tiny vegetable garden and a wonderful wildgarden. The cat will often come out with me and roll around on the warm cement.

We also have a wonderful little space outside too – the shed – to house a little library with some chairs.

The shed (or The Shed) works better in theory than in reality, truth be known. In reality, it’s too vulnerable to the environment to use more than occasionally. It bakes in the summer, too expensive to heat in the winter, too noisy during the school months or if a group of people decide to hang out in the school parking lot behind us and play music.
But when it’s quiet, not too hot and not too cold, it’s pretty great.
