Not a Subway Sketch

At Artists 25 Lifedrawing here in the West end in September I tried my first four-hour pose drawing. Most participants were using paint but I have no experience with paint, so I just stuck with my pencil, eraser and blending stump smudger thing.

It was liberating knowing I could take as much time as I needed. Yet even after four hours I wanted more time.

I was pretty happy with the results at the time though now I see tonnes of mistakes.

    Woah four hours. Most of mine are done in 30-45 mins

      It was my first time at a four hour pose! I was so nervous, I had only started getting back into life drawing after many many years away. Just gotta let myself be slow !!

        Well worth it. I’d much prefer to have models pose longer but it’s not the habit here
